Born and raised in Houston, native Pastry Chef Monica Allen has been in the baking industry for more than 10 years. Fueled by a love of baking and a desire to have a deeper understanding of the science of baking, she changed her original major from Management Information Systems at Prairie View A&M University and dedicated her studies to Baking and Pastry Arts at the Art Institute of Houston. Monica’s passion for baking is only rivaled by an even bigger passion for people – especially her family and friends. When she’s not bringing smiles to everyone’s faces at work, you can find her reading, spending time with her family, doing activities with her church, listening to various genres of music, or riding a 4-wheeler whenever she can.

Pastry Chef Meagan Curtis always had a passion for baking from her earliest childhood memories of baking her Grandma’s sugar cookies with her Dad. This passion only continued to grow as she grew; in high school she was even given the nickname “the girl with the cupcakes” for being known throughout the school for giving away cupcakes to whoever looked like they needed a pick-me-up. So armed with passion and a hunger for knowledge, Meagan enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. She graduated in 2016 with a Associates degree in Baking and Pastry Arts and a Bachelors degree in Applied Food Studies. Baking ever since, Meagan’s passion for making people happy through the sharing of good food – especially bread and pastries– has only increased. Nothing brings a smile to someone’s face like a fresh baked cinnamon roll! Outside of baking, she enjoys gardening, knitting, and singing in the choir at her church.
